Personality: Ash Ketchum is excitable. Willing to learn new things and excited about life in general, he goes through highs and lows like a crashing wave of emotion, bounding from life from one point to a next point. His endless energy has given him zest and zeal for life, which has caused him to give a reason to continue on with his journey and keep learning things here in Alola until the time is ready to move onto the next region.

Ash thinks with his heart, and less with his head. But as of late, his emotions and his heart have become a part of his response to the world around him. Seeing the beauty of the world around him, and the struggles of his friends and loved ones, he has grown to appreciate everyone in his world, and the people around him. He can connect with people even when it gets frustrating. He also gets easily frustrated when things get rough, and he trains extra hard in order to push through the things he doesn't understand thanks to the nurturing guidance of the ones who support him.

Ash has learned to love. It isn't easy for him to admit it, but in his heart, he has learned to love, deep down. There's a torch, burning there for Serena, and he has kept it strong for his life and zest for that day when they would be together in the future. Until then, and upon that day, he'll spread the inexhaustible expressions of caring that she and he learned together in the world.

Ash has a rage button. He can GET ANGRY. There are very few things that anger him in this world, but if you mistreat his friends, cheat in a fight, mistreat Pokemon or be downright evil? You are going down. There is a reason why the world has TUrned to Ash and he has saved it many times, even if he doesn't talk about it at all.

Deep down, he clams up his emotional pain. He has many many emotional scars, and all of it built up into his frustrations deep down. With time being a nebulous fuckery of life thanks to Celebi messing with him on numerous occasions, no one really knows how much time passes in the Pokemon World at any given moment. Thus, "Ash is 10" even if he feels like he's 20 sometimes.

Since his time in Alola however, he's learned to smile a whole lot more. He's learned the value of family and the ease of smiles in his life. The healing nature of Alola taught him many things, things that he values highly in his life. His family in Alola, Kukui and Burnet and his little brother Lei are all precious to him, as with the Pokemon and his extended family of the students that he cares for in his own right.

Now, he is smiling a whole lot more since the battles that defined him, and he is more relaxed. Even though he is prone to making a lot of mistakes and trying to figure out where he is, he is able to smile, the weight of depression and anxiety of never winning the major competitions off his shoulders now that he achieved his goal of becoming a Regional Champion. It's small, and it's fledgling, but Alola is his, and he will never trade it because Alola is his home.

As such, Ash continues his journey, taking Goh under his wing and taking every opportunity to battle Bea of Galar, a relationship built on a love of sweets and beating the crap out of each other at each and every turn.

Character changes: Ash is really bad at computers. If anything, he might even be the one who is filmed being battled than actually interacting with a computer. He's not one to actually interact and look up his own canon, but he might actually look in on his friends if using a phone once in a while. Just to see how they're doing. Ash isn't one to dwell on the what ifs, but moving forward.

He's not one to look ahead on his future episodes either, but he will at least help those in need if need be.

Capabilities: Ash is a strong battler, and empathic Pokemon trainer. He is strong in Aura, a power that is unique to certain Pokemon Trainers which is a power unique to Lucario in general. But he rarely uses it, if anything. His skills lay in trusting his Pokemon, and learning from them.

As a research fellow for Professor Cerise, he's more in tune with the world around him than he is Goh. Although Goh is always there, trying to get his attention during training, and learning how the weird Ash ticks. The pair are usually in the thick of things, and Goh and Ash are learning from one another. It should be said that in this part of the timeline, Ash and Goh are a pair, and are rarely apart from one another in this timeline as a duo.

Notes: Ash is from a subset of series called "Pet Monster" series, and as such, cannot literally function without Pikachu. If it is possible, I would like full autonomy over Pikachu and Ash's team, as extensive as they are.
